Hello! My name is Liz Johnson. Zaba is a nickname my husband has for me. When it was time for me to go out on my own, it was a unique name
I started working in graphic design at a printer in Little Rock in the late nineties. We did high-end retouching and layouts for the Neiman Marcus catalog among other clients. When Photoshop became a consumer-grade product, the Silicon Graphics computers were no longer necessary and that work dried up.
Lucky for me I moved on to a small ad agency to create their computer network, graphic design and production. I worked there for a couple of years and learned a lot about branding and its power to build a business.
From there spent a little time at CJRW before I took on the role of Director of Graphic Services for Transamerica's Worksite Marketing (Employee Benefits) division in Little Rock. It was during my 15-year job with them that I refined my design and marketing skills and expanded my web expertise. I really enjoyed creating user experiences online and more importantly refining them as the users had complaints and questions.
In 2017 Transamerica moved that division to Colorado and I started out on my own. Since then I've created several sites for a wide array of businesses as well as help them with print, digital and social design.
My husband owns Film Gear Rentals with a partner and we met in our 30s. By this time all the good nicknames for Elizabeth were taken by previous romances so he came up with Zaba as a nickname for Elizabeth. I go by Liz because it's faster to say and speed and quality are my thing.
